I bought an even cheaper (in every sense of the word) ukulele at Hilo Hattie's in Hawaii. It's a total tourist toy. I've tried to play it, but it just does NOT hold its tuning. I think that's common among ukes, though.
I'd still like to learn the uke someday. There must be a way of making the tuning last longer (though I'm sure Jake Shimaburoku, or whatever his name is, has stagehands to help him switch ukes between each song in concert).
