Thoughts on Maundy Thursday
Apr. 10th, 2009 11:07 amI attended a Maundy Thursday service, my first ever, at a Lutheran church last night and it was a terribly moving service. The stripping of the altar while the congregation recited the 22nd Psalm made me teary-eyed. I felt hollowed out when the service ended.
The Methodist church I attended as a child must have done these services, but I guess we never went. I don't know that I've attended a Good Friday service either. We weren't much for non-Sunday church services; weekday services were left for the Baptist church on the other side of town.
I felt a real pull last night. I do want to attend church regularly again; I need to find a place where I feel comfortable.
Heh, so much for "deep thoughts". I guess I'm not comfortable talking about my faith in this forum. It's too personal, I guess.
