Conversation with the boss
Apr. 23rd, 2009 11:41 amBossman rang me this morning to see how work has been going while he's been turkey hunting in the wilds of Ohio. I told him I couldn't wait for him to come back. I said, "It's like when you babysit for someone and they tell you that their kids are sweet angels and as soon as mom and dad leave, the kids set fire to living room drapes, shave the cat, and dump multiple boxes of jello in the dishwasher. It's been kind of like that."
He laughed and said that he was happy to hear it wasn't easy to get along without him; otherwise, his feelings might have been hurt.
"Oh no," I replied. "I still pray every night: 'Dear God, please don't ever let anything happen to J so that I have to become the manager. Amen.'"
Thank heavens he'll be back Monday.
