I took advantage of Saturday's mild weather to complete my family Christmas shopping and deck the outside of our house. Two pre-lit garlands, two pre-lit trees, four pre-lit and battery operated wreaths, fourteen sparkly "grape" bunches, four wax luminaria, and 100 yards of wired ribbon later... et voila!

The wreaths and ribbons are new this year. The battery packs are heavy, but at least the wreaths light up reliably unlike the solar lights I tried a couple of years ago.
Hubbyfink and I spent most of Sunday wrapping light cords in plastic cable management wrap to keep Oreo from chewing through them and electrocuting himself or burning down the house. The project required two trips to Home Depot for additional cable wrap. Oof. And we only wrapped the bottom tier of the tree and one string of additional lights. Tonight we'll fluff out the tree and add the additional lights. (The tree is pre-lit with clear lights. I have two strings of colored lights to add.) We'll then leave the undecorated tree up for a few days so the cats can get used to it before we add ornaments. I think we'll all be happier that way.
