BPAL reviews!
The Gibbous Moon: (LE 2007: Moonflower, Madonna lily, orris, white ginger, cucumber, hyacinth, and Irish moss.) HYACINTH. Great heaving waves of hyacinth. And since I love hyacinths, I think that's pretty darn awesome. After an hour or so, it turns into a fresh, green scent like the smell of freshly cut flower stems in water. Definitely not a fall or winter perfume -- it's way too soft -- but this will be woooonderful next summer.
Upa Upa: (LE Atomic Luau Lounge 2008: Spiced rum, coconut, pineapple, and vanilla.) I wanted to smell like a fruity umbrella drink during these dark and dank days of late autumn. Unfortunately, the spiced rum slapped me in the face and Hubbyfink actually jumped away from me when I waved my wrist under his nose. This spice HURTS. My wrist may have started itching, but I think that was psychosomatic. Trade pile.
Swank: (GC Bewitching Brews: Simply cool, the essence of Lounge: the scent of a crisp pomegranate martini.) I. Love. This. Scent. I couldn't stop huffing my wrist and my spreadsheet notes simply say BOTTLE. It's sparkly and girly and pomegranate-y. A 5ml bottle is already on order.
White Moon (LE A Little Lunacy Oct 2006: Lilac, calla lily, wisteria, white sandalwood, moonflower, night musk, phlox, and violet.) Very soft and powdery, almost cloyingly so. It smells like my Mom, or rather, it smells like something my Mom would like. She may find it in her stocking because I don't need to keep it in my perfume box.
Lines Written Among the Euganean Hills: (LE Yule 2008: Skin musk, white sandalwood, balsam fir, frozen black berries, cedar, winter rose, and white amber.) I feared this would turn into Order of the Dragon: The Carpathian Mountains which is my personal standard for Epic Perfume Fail. But ho, what scent upon yonder wrist breaks? For it is chilly berries and soft rose. The sandalwood and amber kept everything from going too sweet and the evergreens never jumped out in their typical BOOYA style. If Moon of Small Spirits turns into EPF, I'll sneak another bottle of Lines... onto a post-Christmas order.
Port Royal: (GC Wanderlust: Spiced rum and ship’s wood mixed with the body-warmed trace of a prostitute’s perfume and a hint of salty sea air on the dry-down.) Unlike Upa Upa, Port Royal's spiced rum did not attempt to mug me and my loved one. The rum is warm and comforting. My notes say to try this on the 'fink.

The Hamptons The scent of a Cosmopolitan cocktail.
Tisiphone Oleander with black patchouli, ylang ylang, and neroli.
Greed Base and earthy, yet glittering with golden notes: patchouli, heliotrope, copal and oakmoss.
Penny Dreadful Also called Gallows Literature. A dime novel rife with melodrama, horror, madness and cruelty; a ten cent analogy of vice and virtue in conflict. Soft perfume evocative of noir heroines over rich red grave loam.
Windward Passage Breezes blowing off of the waters of the Caribbean: marine accord, seaweed, and bladderwrack.
as imps.
I didn't particularly care for Number 93 sniffing it from the bottle but I really warmed up to it on my skin. My daughter says I smell like Gingerbread when I wear it. I really like Juliet but it's a spring perfume. Light, floral with just a touch of musk. Of the imps I got I really love Tisiphone and will be ordering a 5 ml bottle of that. Greed I didn't like at all the first time I smelled it, but it's growing on me. I'm not used to the heavier scents I guess. Penny Dreadful is nice. I have yet to wear that one on my skin but I think I'll like it. Windward passage smells like cleaning supplies to me. My daughter likes it though. and Hamptons smells like a cosmo. Haven't worn it yet.
Thanks for getting me hooked. I currently waiting on the Salon Exhibit II imp package. :P

I love #93 Engine and Juliet is delicious. I'm waiting for an imp of The Hamptons to arrive so I can compare it to Swank. What'd you think of Obsidian Widow?
