Nervous energy and idiosyncracies

melaniesuzanneI want to work on my craft/sewing room NOW. I want to paint the walls, the closet, the shelving units. The walls will be pale green, the closet will be aqua/turquoise, and the Ivar units will be white. I have to wait and see if the weather will hold and be dry and warm enough for painting on Saturday; reports are still mixed at this point. I wish I could at least get the closet painted and then install a new closet unit so the reenactment clothes and accessories are better stored. I also need to figure out what to do with the doors.
Currently the closet doors are bi-fold. I hate bi-fold doors. I recognize their usefulness in tight spots, but that doesn't mean I have to appreciate them aesthetically. I have to decide if I want two "regular" doors on the craft room closet or simply go without doors. If I go without doors, I can easily access everything in the closet. However, the closet must remain organized and clean else it will drive me up the freaking wall. I could hang a curtain over the opening and that might serve as a decent compromise. The benefit of hanging regular doors is that I would have a place to hang a full-length mirror as well as shoe racks. The drawback is, of course, the amount of space those doors will need for opening. I guess I don't have to decide Right This Minute and I can try living without closet doors for a while.
I want to get to work on remodeling the basement, but that project is more costly time- and money-wise. The craft room redo will cost (money-wise) only a few cans of paint and a few days of work. I should snap the (horrifically embarrassing) before shots tonight. I'm not kidding when I say horrifically embarrassing. Everyone who considers me an organizational queen will be shocked at the grotesque state of my craft room.
