Happy birthday to me =)

It is a dark and stormy day, just like most of my birthdays from my youth. What else could someone named "dark" expect?
So. The weekend: Successful newcomers' meeting on Friday with lots of members and two newcomers in attendance. James joked that the 'fink and I should host all the meetings because they get a good turn-out. Flattering, but no. :)
I caught up on monster movies Saturday with viewings of both "Cloverfield" (the first 20 minutes or so are dreadful, but once the monster shows up the movie turns awesome) and "The Host" (I wasn't interested in the comedy bits, but the scary parts were nicely scary). I also caught a modern adaptation of Henry James' The Turn of the Screw called "In a Dark Place". Someone please tells Leelee Sobieski to get out of the acting biz. Please.
On Sunday I recolored my brassy blonde hair to a much more flattering light brown. Must be a slimming color because lots of folks are asking if I've lost weight. ;) Afterwards, I spent a couple of hours up to my elbows in stringy pumpkin guts. I now have two jack-o-lanterns (one scary and one happy, but cautiously eye-balling the scary guy) on my front steps. I was so happy to see them lit up when I got home from the baronial business meeting last night. Yay spookiness!

Date: 2008-10-27 04:24 pm (UTC)SB: This is not your average, everyday darkness. This is... ADVANCED darkness. Hey, if I close my eyes it doesn't seem so dark.
