[livejournal.com profile] aelf let [livejournal.com profile] annerism and me play with her Wii Fit Saturday evening and we both got hooked. In a fit of there's-nothing-on-TV-and-I-don't-want-to-do-laundry last night, I took my own Wii Fit for a spin.

The body test was appropriately disheartening and my chunky little bloated Mii was cruel but true. I started out the evening with a Wii Fit age of 43. After thirty minutes of games, I retested and dropped ten years off my Wii Fit age. Sweet. That hula hoop game is a killer, but I went from 81 hoops/loops/rotations/whatever to 289 once I figured out how to catch the other hula hoops being thrown at my Mii.

Surprisingly, I was sweaty and kind of tired after thirty minutes of running, jumping, gyrating and posing. I think this will be a decent alternative on those I-really-don't-want-to-go-to-the-gym days.

I love my Wii Fit - and I've ended up doing it most mornings rather than a video, because I can do what I feel like doing, rather than the same routine.

Plus - rhythm boxing = tres fun.

But it is depressing to keep hearing it say "That's Obese" every time I do a body test.

Ooh, I haven't unlocked rhythm boxing. That sounds interesting.

This is crazy, but I think my favorite game last night was the three minute jog through the park. It was fun seeing all my friends' and family's mii along the path.
