I'm working from home because UPS was kind enough to send a recorded message yesterday stating that we'd receive a signature-required package on Monday. When a knock came at the door, I startled and managed to kick a nearly full glass of water into my open purse sitting on the floor next to the coffee table. *sigh*

The person knocking wasn't the UPS guy, though; it was the postman and he gave me a package containing the following:
Wooden arms by Watkyn of Kent

Isn't that cool? Watkyn of Kent inscribed my arms on a wooden plaque. Many of my friends have name signs made by this gentleman. I'm so delighted with the surprise. Even though he was unable to attend Winter's Welcome Revel, he sent the sign in thanks of my stewarding the event. Awww. :)

The picture below this next cut has nothing to do with what's going on today. I saw it while perusing a non-wrecky site posted on the Cake Wrecks blog yesterday. Next time I'm in need of a special cake, I want this one:
'Mousies' cake.

This delightful confection was made by the talented proprietor of Cake Nouveau in Ann Arbor, MI. Love it!

Beautiful! And I totally thought of you when I saw that cake.

Watkyn is such a nice man. And his wood-chipping skill just gets better every time I see something of his. (I rarely know what to do with any of it but it's like a greeting card, it just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy...)

Havent you learned by now, if you have a UPS package, send me a text message with the tracking number, and I can give you more information than you ever wanted to know about the routing of said package.

Though the important information, specifically exactly when the driver will be at your door, is still something I can't give. We just can't predict delivery times with that much certainty.

Except the call didn't give me a tracking number and neither Scott nor I have ordered anything being delivered by UPS.

Oh, and the driver never showed today. I think the system may have had a wrong number. *grumble*

Now I can do absolutely nothing about customers that can't seem to get their information correct.

Sorry about that. *grin*

I'd want his name, his phone number and home address.

Technically, I *CAN* get that information, but I do like my job, so I won't be passing it along to just anyone.

Besides, I no longer work with the drivers that deliver to your house. I am now up in a different building.
