Holiday Faire was an aboslute whirlwind of visiting, noshing, shopping, and retaining. Since I wasn't selling anything this year, Hubbyfink and I slept in and didn't get on site until 1pm or so. We missed

flonzy's being put on vigil for the Order of the Laurel but made it in time to see

belfebe "kill" His Majesty on the rapier field and then be inducted into the Order of the White Scarf for her "treason". Hubbyfink wandered off to retain for His Excellency Stierbach while I lapped the merchants: purchasing the Florentine overdress pattern from

kass_rants, nibbling

tattycat's nommerific chicken and mushroom pie, and gleefully snagging four of

ccunning's Silver Nautilus medallions for the Ravenstreet Singers, before scurrying hither and yon throughout the site looking for Her Majesty for my retaining shift.

Happily, I was signed up for the shopping portion of Her Majesty's day and trailed along with

theodorad and

mselspet as Her Maj made a lap around the merchants. During this second trip, I was able to disperse the SN medallions to Cassie,

psalite, and

carthew. I also snagged four buckles from ThorThor and enabled Elspet into buying a pair of blue Italian glass earrings. She returned the favor by enabling me into buying a pair of gold Italian glass earrings. She's so good to me.

When Her Majesty tired, we returned to the smaller building where she retired to a quiet corner with Theo and I slipped into a lively conversion with

stitchwhich and

donnavenice about Italian hair, cuffia, and how not to do Norse reenactment. We were delighted to hear that court was moving up half an hour and were then regaled with a short concert by Alle Psallite. It was odd being on the audience side of an AP performance, but I'm still recovering from bronchitis and didn't have the stamina for singing without triggering a coughing fit just yet.

Royal court was full of goodness for friends. I am especially excited for

tattycat's much deserved induction as a Companion of the Pearl and

flonzy's elevation to the Order of the Laurel.

And now I anxiously wait for

dawnhutchings to upload her photos from the event so I can have a picture of my Venetian hair.
