I'm feeling slightly less frazzled now that I've reserved our rental vehicle. The original plan was to rent a cargo van for us and our caravan friends and put two people in the van and two people in a chase car (most likely the Prius). We've lost our carpoolers and are now going to load up a rented Grand Caravan with our assortment of camping gear. We could probably get everything into both the Prius and Jeepfink, but neither one of us relishes the idea of driving alone in our respective car for the thirteen or so hours it takes to get to Mom's house. On the other hand, I could listen to banjo music without verbal abuse... Hm.

Gotta love the included Unlimited Miles. "Yeah, hi. I just put twenty-five hundred miles on your van in one week. Kthxbye!"

I'm taking a half day on the 12th so that we can pick up the van and get everything loaded at a leisurely pace before the huge drive to Memphis. Hubbyfink is usually home early on Fridays so that won't bite into his vacation time. I feel soooo much better with this little detail nailed down.

Rats. Here I was, thinking that he'd remade all the songs in the original The Crow movie using banjos. Couldn't tell if I was enthused or appalled, but that was what I was thinking...

There could be unlimited miles, but be sure you can take it out of state... I rented from one outfit - Enterprise- that wouldn't let me take the vehicle out of VA... Um, I lived in Alexandria at that point...
