It's taken nearly ten days but I am finally comfortable with my new vehicle. It no longer feels hyoooge. I've got a fairly good idea of how wide it is and mostly good idea of how long the front end is, although, I'm still erring on the side of thinking it's longer than it really is. Still no dings or dents (knock particle board). Still waiting for the title number so I can order personalized tags.

I'm still mourning Basil's death. I've been in a bit of a fog and fairly subdued. There are tears at bedtime. We got the condolence card from the vet yesterday; I'm dreading the call about his ashes being ready for pick up. I could be anthropomorphizing, but I think that Margie is trying to find Bays. When she and Kit are on the bed, Marge watches the hall like she's looking for something. This morning, she was tearing around the house at high speed and kept stopping to check my closet and under the bed. I've got to get her a playmate soon.

The first week of drafting class is done and I did pretty well grade-wise. This week is supposed to be the most difficult. Joy!

Alle Psallite practice tonight. It'll be good to see my friends again. I've been too much the hermit lately. I want to keep hermitting, but I know that social time will be good for me and help me get back into my groove.

Aw. I don't think it's anthropomorphizing. When my grandfather died he'd spent a while mostly in the bedroom, before finally dying in hospital. For the first month-ish Kitzy would periodically walk into the bedroom, yowl for a couple minutes, and leave again. It's not something she ever did before, and it's not something she ever did after.

I'm so sorry.

And I'm still sorry about Basil.

Ive had my highlander a couple years now and still am not sure how long the nose is. its that steep downhill slope of the hood, I think :)

one thing I'm noticing that I'm curious about...I get WAY more rock chips on the windshield than I ever did with the corolla....is it that the slope of the car sucks the rocks up and they hit the windshield (rather than getting slurped over the top) or just a coincidence?

enjoy your car :). they got a fair bit of zip to 'em!

Oof, I haven't gotten any rocks flying at me yet, thank goodness. I think you're right about that slope. I have no idea where it ends!

Yeah, I was going to see if an adoption thing was happening at PetSmart soon. First, though, we had to get rid of all the urine spots in the dining room. We may be ready to get another cat this weekend.

If you have any drafting questions, feel free to drop me a line or give me a call. Not that I think you'll need any assistance, but just remember that if you do, you have someone with loads of drafting experience just down the road :-)

The Petco over by Wegmans hosts the Loudoun County Animal Shelter adoption truck on Thursday afternoons; I think they have weekend events as well. Also, I can't say enough good things about the Washington Animal Rescue League's facility (where the Idiot Twins and Pookie came from). It really is cat nirvana, and it's worth visiting just to see how cool it is. -h
