Still maintaining

The scale isn't moving down, nor are my belt notches, but neither is going up either. I have this maintenance thing down pat! Unfortunately, I'm only halfway and have another forty pounds to lose before I hit goal. I'm consoling myself that I will get back into the weight loss mindset when autumn descends and am congratulating myself on not creeping upwards. Patience, grasshoppah.

This morning's 4.5 magnitude aftershock woke me and startled Margie. I heard a rumble and felt the bed shake as items on our nightstands and dresser rattled. Oreo and Hubbyfink slept through it. I wasn't sure if it was an aftershock or a large truck hitting the speedbump outside our house at too high a speed. I wasn't so curious that I ran downstairs to check the news and pulled the covers back over my head after comforting my spazzy cat.

Rain from the impending cold front is pouring right now. No idea yet if we'll get a soaking from Hurricane Irene this weekend. Hubbyfink and I are going to aim our bikes towards Vienna (VA) and see how far we're able to cycle. Actually, we could probably cycle a fair distance; it's the coming back home that's the problem. I hope we have some clear weather for the outing.
