Shoulder cat Neo. I love the joyful look on your face and, well, shoulderkitties always win.

Date: 2008-11-06 08:41 pm (UTC)I ended up as a secretary for five years, four of them at NCSU. I come from a family of architects, and I had always been interested in it (but as bromeister is also an architect, I resisted "the call" for as long as I could). I took some architecture classes at NCSU, and ended up applying to both NCSU (grad program) and UNC-Charlotte (undergrad). I got in to UNC-C. Graduated #3 in my class (small brag :-). I don't always love architecture, and I have had some jobs which have nearly beaten my love of design out of me, but it's addictive. I have also found that unlike most architects, I am good at (and enjoy) writing reports, and I'm getting better at specifications. My first love will always be preservation and adaptive reuse of existing buildings, but almost any addition can qualify for that to some extent. That's the brief version of the story :-)

Credit card debt and working to get out of it to buy a home. I got to the point that I didn't have control over my money, i stopped and looked at what I was buying and took my life down to needs instead of just wants. I think that was the point (or it could have been not being approved for the first townhome I wanted to make an offer on - i don't like being told no).

Date: 2008-11-05 08:29 pm (UTC)I had no clue at all. In fact, I was going to reassess my participation in the SCA based on whether or not I had any fun at that event. I felt as if I would never reach the goal of becoming a peer. I was definitely caught off guard!

Stripey socks. I've seen you wear them a couple of times and they're just so *you*.
c) Tell you something I like about you.

I enjoyed chatting with you at last year's Holiday Faire. You were so regal and lovely in your red silk gown and surcoat.
e) Ask you something I've wanted to know about you.
How'd a girl like you (being from the Bronx) wind up in a place like this (below the Mason-Dixon line)?
f) Tell you my favorite userpic from your list.
"Blue tea cup". The shade of blue is striking against the white china and gold details.
